The UniSoft Clinical and Laboratory software is a comprehensive one-stop solution for proficiently managing a variety of health care facilities. The program seamlessly accommodates an extensive range of specializations and requirements that are imperative for the successful operation of any medical institution. As with other UniSoft packages, this versatile and innovative software boasts an array of advanced tools and capabilities with a proven record of exceptional performance – both in the Middle East and around the world.

The system can be utilized for managing specialized clinics, hospices, medical centers and other health facilities involved in providing a variety of services, including but not limited to tests and analyses, scans, X-rays, etc.

The system has been engineered to manage multi-specialization hospitals, encompassing a wide range of operational management tools and functionalities. The UniSoft Hospital Management solution is a complete all-inclusive system that effectively processes and manages relevant data in order to facilitate sound decision-making in areas related to patient care, hospital management and critical financial accounting.

The system handles the following assignments:

  • 1. Administrative functions such as medical records, physicians, sponsors, insurance companies, patient appointments, reception management activities and admission processes.

  • 2. Medical activities such as clinical work cycles, operating rooms and auxiliary services, consumables, medications, and in-patient treatment follow ups.

  • 3. Financial procedures including the services rendered to patients by medical departments, service units and cashier transactions.

The following is a brief description outlining the technical attributes complimenting the UniSoft Hospital Management solution.

I. Medical Records

The Medical Records module captures an extensive array of patient-related details (listed below), whilst performing a variety of versatile data management functions set on improving the overall patient care process.

II. Automated Medical Records

This is a far-reaching and integrated data bank, which fulfills all medical and patient record requirements at any given health institution. The system supports a wide array of medical specializations and departments, handling such data as medical tests, diagnosis and treatment dates, test results, etc. The system boasts the following capabilities:

  • Printing patient cards showing a distinct barcode for each patient
  • Printing samples with barcodes
  • Accessing patient records using the designated barcode
  • Recording medical examination details on the physician’s automated board
  • Printing patient account statements and payment records

III. Patient Appointments and Physicians

The program is able to schedule appointments for every doctor at the different medical departments, with the capacity of booking emergency appointments on the appointment screen. This contributes to facilitating and expediting receptionist duties by sending an instant message to the relevant doctor, informing him/her not only of the new scheduled appointment; but of the subsequent one as well, in addition to the service required by the patient.

For the purpose of assisting reception personnel perform their designated duties with ease and efficiency, UniSoft has consolidated all required data in a single screen, which includes data related to patient records, patient visits, samples withdrawn and patient insurance details; in addition to the capability of accessing appointment screens.

The system features a simple, easy to use and flexible search facility to simplify and hasten appointment slating, while resolving any possible time-consuming problems. Searches may be conducted by patient name, file number, cell phone number, civil ID number or address, etc.

The solution also features a highly adaptable, scalable and effective appointment screen, capable of postponing existing entries and scheduling new ones at any given time. Users are also able to cancel appointments and process the necessary procedures with the respective physicians. The screen has been developed to accommodate reservations spanning several years as well as retrieving data from previous cancelled/postponed appointments, while identifying employees authorized to confirm and cancel appointments as appropriate.

IV. Physicians

Separate screens are assigned to each physician for entering patient diagnosis while displaying medical history and whether the patient has been referred by another clinic. Physician screens can also refer patients to a specific clinic, laboratory or physician where needed.

The physician enters the procedures pertaining to each case and follows them up, assisted in so doing by the screen’s automatic retrieval of the patient in question. The doctor then enters any necessary procedures required in operation theaters, medical investigations, or medication to be prescribed; communicating the latter to the in-house pharmacy online.

V. Laboratories

The laboratory module facilitates investigation requests and the delivery of results to the relevant department/physician, via receiving and processing an online request form. Laboratory technicians are also authorized to generate such requests.

This module supports the processing of various tests in the specialties of biochemistry, genetics, hematology, microbiology, serology, neurology, X-ray. The data is collected and categorized as follows:

  • Age and gender of the patient on the medical records screen
  • Type and specialization of tests performed
  • Capability of adjusting “normal” test readings according to patient age and gender
  • Capability of adding further tests
  • Withdrawal of samples for culture investigations
  • Receiving samples from other laboratories
  • Capability of interfacing a number of laboratories within a single program and determining a new price for a certain test or investigation

  • Sending samples to other laboratories as well as to the lab of reference

The module exemplifies a focal access point for setting appointments with resident doctors or consulting physicians.
